🦉🔍 Exploring the World of Owls: Owl Pellet Dissection! 🔍🦉
Today, Ridge Elementary School fifth graders embarked on a fascinating journey into the world of owls and their diets. The young scientists had a blast working with owl pellets to uncover the secrets hidden within. 🌿🦴
🔎 What's an Owl Pellet? These are regurgitated masses of undigested bits that owls expel after a tasty meal.
🔬 The Process: Armed with tweezers, magnifying glasses, and a chart to short contents, students carefully dissected the pellets, meticulously sorting through the contents. They're like little archaeologists, excavating history! 🦴💼
🤔 What Did They Learn? Students gained a deeper appreciation for the role of owls in our ecosystem and how their diet reflects their environment. It's all about the circle of life! 🌎🦉
Thanks to Jenna Krukowski, Interpretive Naturalist with the Forest Preserve District of Will County, for being the guide on this fun adventure.
